My goal for this project was to explore the effects external stimuli had on a musician’s creativity

I believe that human beings are very sensitive to the things they surround themselves with, whether that means people, nature, love, or hate

In the past four years I’ve surrounded myself with brilliant musicians who have an understanding and mastery of music that has regularly inspired me.

I would like to recognize that in deciding to surround myself with the University of Washington’s School of Music I have experienced tremendous growth as an artist

At the end of this part of my journey I would like to thank my teachers and peers for providing an environment that both nurtured and evolved my musicianship

As for this project, over the course of a month I tried to surround myself in environments I thought would inspire me
This was all in an effort to provide an honest representation of my relationship to the bass and music as an art form

Thank you for listening, I appreciate everyone who has helped bring me to the point where I am right now

Special thanks to my teachers Cuong Vu, Ted Poor, Steve Rodby, Luke Bergman, and everyone who’s planted seeds of musical knowledge for me to nourish as I participate in this wonderful thing we call music

And finally I would like to thank my family and loved ones for their enthusiasm over the path I have chosen
